Sort of looks like the remains of an asteroid hit on an active volcanic planet with a dense metallic core, that spewed hot molten material and formed the balls when it was returning and cooling in their descent back to the planet surface.
And I imagine the blueish swirls could be an Aurora Borealis effect from a nearby sun.
